European Comics Festival
Since 2011, EUNIC Romania develops the European Comics Festival, with the support of the Representation of the European Commission in Romania.
The festival theme for the last edition (2017) was “Respect”, and the event brings together a great international exhibition, debates, presentations and workshops. The works of the artists included in the project, from 15 countries, to be exhibited for two weeks at Rezidenţa Scena9 (I.L. Caragiale Street 32), reflect the diversity of European comics and the new architecture of the European political and social tensions.

The European Day of the Languages
EDL was founded in 2002 and EUNIC Romania became a main organiser of this event. Every year we gather around 500 visitors. Event has every year specific focuses – which are duly separated from the information service provided by the participants at the stands, in order to facilitate the visitors’ focus on the workshops. Several activities have been created especially for the EDL17 – the “speak dating” (conversations on 1-to-1 basis, or with a small group of people with a native speaker), children activities (storytelling, various workshops); after a break, last year, the demo lessons returned as well with great success for every national cultural institute. The Roma community, throughout the Roma National Cultural Center, was the special guest of EDL Romania in 2017.

EUNIC Month of Literature
In October 2017, nine partners from EUNIC Romania will come together to celebrate the joy of reading and our shared European literary heritage. More than 30 events will take place in museums, libraries, schools and teaching centres, and in the cultural centres of EUNIC members – including film screenings of famous novels, workshops, activities for schools and teachers, book exchanges, poetry nights and more. Online, we will celebrate individual experiences of reading by asking people to share what they love about literature with the hashtag #EUcitesc.
